A couple of days earlier, my friend, Vincent arrived in Bangkok from Taipei to visit his family during the Chinese New Year break. He was only in town for a week and with our equally tight schedules, we could only meet in the morning – so breakfast it was!
I picked Brekkie, a place I had been wanting to try for a while I have seen from many of my friends’ Instagram. It is one of those must try cafés, known for its healthy all-day breakfast selections, right in the heart of Bangkok’s very own Sukhumvit district.

I ordered sesame crusted tuna with wild rocket salad. I always get the seared tuna whenever I see one in the menu. The fish was well cooked, although I would have preferred that they use less sesame on the crust. The salad dressing was a little sweet and sour, just the perfect combination.

My friend got himself a Reuben sandwich which had American-wood-smoked beef, in-house made thousand island, sour caramelised cabbage, and Swiss cheese on rye toast, with fried sweet potatoes on the side.

For dessert, we ordered a berry based açaí bowl with cold-pressed apple juice, topped with granola, chia seeds and fruits. In fact, this is my first time trying an açaí bowl, and I am impressed. It was my favourite out of everything we ordered that day. Soon, I will be planning to create my own version of the açaí bowl!

Location: 7/10
The restaurant provides a convenient valet parking service, but if you’re not planning to drive you could take the BTS to Phrom Pong station. Although you could walk from the BTS station to Brekkie, I would not recommend it. For me, it’s a little too much of a walk in the Bangkok sun! You could easily get a motorcycle taxi or a Daimaru shuttle car to ease the commute.
Ambience: 10/10
The place is decorated in light colour, fruits and large windows; perfect for taking food photos in natural lights. In addition, the café is quiet and therefore suitable if you’re looking for a place to have a good conversation.
Food: 9/10
As mentioned previously in the blog, I really liked the food. It’s healthy, tasty and beautifully decorated.
Price: 500 THB pp for breakfast
So, that is it for today, Happy Valentines and Chinese New Year 恭喜發財!
Until next time…
