Lord Jim’s is at the Mandarin Oriental, an internationally renowned-award winning 5-star hotel, so of course it will be classy, traditional and slightly formal. Although you are not required to wear black-tie attire, you will be expected to dress up a little for this restaurant. With regards to the food, they are best known for their seafood selection amongst other things but all the food is very delicious. A dining by the river experience at Lord Jim’s would surely impress your date.

2. Asiatique:

Asiatique might seem really touristy to many people, but in fact, there are many legit restaurants choices for you to enjoy. Wine, I love you – another local favourite Thai-Western restaurant, has just opened a branch there; Happy Fish is a fun seafood restaurant where you can chill outside, experience live music, and enjoy the riverside. The other side of Asiatique features some really tasty Japanese sake-bar styled restaurants – Kacha Kacha Teppanyaki, and Ibushi Ginjiro.

Apart from dining, Asiatique offers fun activities such as trying some local desserts and snacks in their food market section too. You can even go on a Ferris wheel for a beautiful view of Bangkok and have a little alone time up there. All in all, Asiatique is best for those who enjoy a little active setting and not so typical date. The place is outdoor, you will get nice breeze from the river, and if you’re lucky you might get a kiss by the pier.
